This specimen was lot 8151 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $218.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Guanajuato. 1/2 Real, 1832-GoMJ. Dark toned. NGC MS-63." It was struck at the Guanajuato mint in 1832, one of a type struck there 1826-68. Assayer MJ is listed for 1826-33. This variety, along with an 1832/1 overdate, are listed as common.
