Highest graded by NGC. Attractive well struck example of this scarce type. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." The Chihuahua 2 reales is considerably scarcer than the catalog indicates but makes up for it with a fascinating local design, The large liberty cap, thick rays and crude lettering are distinctive to this mint. Only Oaxaca did not strike this type. This type, legal tender in the pre Civil War United States for a quarter, is common except in uncirculated.

Recorded mintage: unknown.
