This specimen was lot 6255 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $195.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Durango. 8 Reales, 1832-RM/L. Die style of 1832-1842. 'European' dies, nice strike. ALMOST UNCIRCULATED." The Durango mint struck eight reales 1824-95 and this early date is one of the first readily available dates. Both "Mexican style" and "European style" eagles are known for this date; the "European style" eagle is distinctive to Durango and appeared on all the denominations struck there.
