The first specimen was lot 73022 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $341.60. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 2 Reales, 1832-Do RM. Durango Mint. NGC EF Details--Cleaned. Variety with style of pre-1832 (Mexican dies). Very scarce. Second highest of just three examples graded by NGC. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." The second specimen was lot 73023 in the same sale, where it sold for $732. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 2 Reales, 1832-Do RM. Durango Mint. NGC VF Details--Reverse Scratched. Variety with style post-1832 (French dies). Very scarce. Only example graded by NGC. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." Shown are two different 1832-DORM two reales, from a type struck at the Durango mint 1826, 1832-35 and 1841-61. Assayer RM (Ramon Mascarenas) is recorded for the years 1830-48. The SCWC mentions the two reverses shown here, calling them "pre-1832" and "post-1832" without explaining the difference. The French style eagle, distinctive to this mint, was used on all the silver and gold denominations and appeared on the two reales until at least 1855. Other mints include Zacatecas, Mexico City, Alamos, Hermosillo, Potosi, Culiacan, Chihuahua, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Estado de Mexico, Real de Catorce and Guadalupe y Calvo. Only Oaxaca did not strike this type. This type, legal tender in the pre Civil War United States for a quarter, is common except in uncirculated.

Recorded mintage: unknown.
