This specimen was lot 2498 in Goldberg sale 98 (Los Angeles, June 2017), where it sold for $1,762.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Five Pounds, 1998. Elizabeth II. 50th Birthday - Prince Charles. Mintage 773. In original case." This type was also struck in silver and copper-nickel for the common herd.

Recorded mintage: 1,407,000 + 100,000 proofs in copper-nickel; 13,379 in silver; 773 in gold.

Specification: KM 995: 28.28 g, copper-nickel, 38.6 mm diameter; KM 995a: 28.28 g, 0.925 fine silver; KM 995b: 39.94 g, 0.917 fine gold, 1.1775 troy oz AGW.
