This specimen was lot 71498 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $3,120. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 100 Pounds, 1998. Llantrisant Mint. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. This shimmering, flawless specimen dazzles with a robust cameo nature and features the newly modeled older portrait of the queen." This type was struck 1998-2000 with an updated bust of the queen. It was accompanied by KM 1010 (₤50), KM 1009 (₤25) and KM 1008 (₤10).
