This specimen was lot 71497 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $2,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 100 Pounds, 1995. Llantrisant Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. On the verge of perfection, this radiant specimen dazzles with an exceptional cameo nature." This type was struck 1990-96. The prior type (KM 953) varied in being alloyed with copper instead of silver. It was accompanied by KM 952a (₤50), KM 951a (₤25) and KM 950a (₤10).

Recorded mintage: 500.

Specification: 34.05 g, 0.917 fine gold, 32.7 mm diameter, 1 troy oz AGW.
