This specimen was lot 71504 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $552. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 25 Pounds, 1995. Llantrisant Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. A charming type featuring a defiantly standing Britannia, this nearly-flawless specimen radiates with great brilliance and an immensely pleasing cameo nature." This type was struck 1990-96. The prior type (KM 953) varied in being alloyed with copper instead of silver. It was accompanied by KM 953a (₤100), KM 952a (₤50) and KM 950a (₤10).

Recorded mintage: 500.

Specification: 8.51 g, 0.917 fine gold, 22 mm diameter, 0.25 troy oz AGW.
