This specimen was lot 71505 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $576. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 25 Pounds, 1998. Llantrisant Mint. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. A fairly RARE issue, this shimmering specimen is tied with just one other example at the top spot in the NGC census." This type was struck 1998-2000 with an updated bust of the queen. It was accompanied by KM 1011 (₤100), KM 1010 (₤50) and KM 1008 (₤10).

Recorded mintage: 560.

Specification: 8.51 g, 0.917 fine gold, 22 mm diameter, 0.25 troy oz AGW.
