This specimen was lot 20451 in Ponterio sale 176 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $646. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Elizabeth II, 1952-Present. Sovereign, 1998. NGC PF-69 ULTRA CAMEO. Mature head right by Broadley. Rv. Pistrucci’s St. George and the Dragon. Just about perfect! Ex: Royal Mint, 1998." This type, struck 1998-2008, features the fourth bust to be used on the sovereigns of Elizabeth II. These were sold to investors and collectors and not issued for circulation.

Recorded mintage: 10,000 proofs.
