This specimen was lot 71534 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $960. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 2 Pounds, 1998. Llantrisant Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Preserved in immaculate quality without noteworthy imperfections." This type was struck 1998-2015, as a revival of the old two pounds struck in Victorian and Edwardian times. It was accompanied by a gold sovereign and five pounds, also not intended to circulate. This is an unlisted date.
