This specimen was lot 31302 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "Elizabeth II gold Proof 'Millennium' 5 Pounds 1999 PR65 Ultra Cameo NGC. Commemorating the Millennium. Beautifully colored a deep copper-gold, dazzling mirror fields with richly frosted devices. AGW 1.1775." This type, struck to cash in on the millennium frenzy of 1999-2000, was issued in multiple formats of which we show the gold version here.
