This specimen was lot 1720 in Jean Elsen sale 152 (Brussels, September 2022), where it sold for €95 (about US$115 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"CUBA, République (1902-), AR 30 pesos (3 oz), 1991. Les frères Pinzón. 1000 p. frappées. Flan poli. (republic of Cuba, silver thirty pesos (three troy oz) of 1991, the Pinzon brothers. One thousand pieces struck. Proof.)"
After the release of many self-congratulatory NCLT's was greeted by disinterest from the world at large, the regime switched to less political topics such as sports and history. This was part of an extensive series celebrating Colombus's discovery of the New World.
