Künker Auction 426, lot 3087

This specimen was lot 3087 in Künker Auction 426 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €825 (about US$1,168 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Ferdinand II., 1592-1618-1637. Reichstaler 1625, Kuttenberg Münzmeister Sebastian Hölzl. R Hübsche Patina, min. Belagreste, winz. Kratzer, fast vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, thaler of 1625, Kuttenberg mint. Rare, handsome patina, slightly rough, hairlines, about extremely fine.)"

Bohemian thalers for 1625 include KM 354/Dav-3136 (Prague), KM 355/Dav-3143 (shown here), and KM 356/Dav-3141 (Joachimsthal). This type was struck 1623-37 and is fairly common. Other Hapsburg thalers of 1625 include KM 521/Dav-3106 (Hall), KM 525.2/Dav-3093 (St. Pölten), KM 525.3/Dav-3094 (St. Pölten), KM 525.4/Dav-3095 (St. Pölten), KM 525.5/Dav-3096 (St. Pölten), KM 526/Dav-3123 (St. Veit), KM 531/Dav-3087 (Vienna), KM 598/Dav-3088, KM 599/Dav-3091 (Vienna), KM 600/Dav-3019A.
