Sincona sale 77, lot 2895

This specimen was lot 2895 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 36,000 CHF (about US$43,697 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Ferdinand II. 1619-1637. 10 Dukaten 1625, Prag. Münzmeister Benedikt Huebmer. Sehr selten. NGC AU Details. Kleiner Rand- und Schrötlingsfehler. (Austria, Ferdinand II, 1619-37, ten ducats of 1625, Prague mint. Very rare, Minor edge and flan flaw.)"

This type was struck steadily 1621-37 yet all dates are rare. As these were made for presentation, most survivors show jewelry damage.
