Künker sale 400, lot 326
Moravia in 1648, showing Kremsier and Olmutz

This specimen was lot 326 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €4,600 (about US$5,968 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Ferdinand II. 1592-1618-1637. Reichstaler 1624, B, Brünn. Sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, thaler of 1624, Brunn mint. Very fine.)"

Brunn, in Moravia, was another Hapsburg mint operated only during the Thirty Years War. Its products are today rare. This one is very similar to Dav-3146 but varies in the details of the emperor's mantle and lacks mintmasters initials.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 28.32 g.

Catalog reference: KM 517.1; Dav-3144; Voglh. 129; Halacka 874.
