Künker sale 335, lot 4658

This specimen was lot 4658 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €700 (about US$916 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH. Ferdinand II. 1592-1618-1637. 1/2 Reichstaler 1624, Joachimstal. Münzmeister Gregor Steinmüller. R Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, half thaler of 1624, Joachimsthal mint. Scarce, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This half thaler was struck at the Joachimsthal mint in Bohemia 1623-28. It was also minted at Prague (KM 347) and Kuttenberg (KM 349).
