Künker sale 335, lot 4659

This specimen was lot 4659 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €750 (about US$982 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH. Ferdinand II. 1592-1618-1637. 1/4 Reichstaler 1624, Prag. Münzmeister Hans Suttner. RR Sehr schön +. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, quarter thaler of 1624, Prague mint. Rare, very fine or better.)"

This quarter thaler was struck at the Prague mint in Bohemia 1623-37. It was also minted at Joachimsthal (KM 345) and Kuttenberg (KM 344). The Prague issue is the most available.
