Silesia in 1648. Breslau is on the river Oder

This specimen was lot 4189 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$594 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Ferdinand II. 1618-1637 Taler 1631. Breslau Münzmeister Hans Ziesler. Selten. Sehr schön. Dünne Kratzer auf Av. Rand etwas bearbeitet. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, thaler of 1631, Breslau mint, mintmaster Hans Ziesler. Rare, Very fine, thin scratches on obverse, tooling on rim.)"

This one year type, like most Breslau thalers, is rare.
