This specimen was lot 3558 in Goldberg sale 85 (Los Angeles, June 2015), where it sold for $517. The catalog description[1] noted, "Austria. Taler, 1631 (Vienna). Ferdinand II, 1619-1637. Lustrous, sharply struck with light gray tone. NGC graded AU-58." This type was struck 1625-38 and is among the more common issues of the period. It was accompanied by a double thaler (Dav-3090) struck using the same dies.
