Silesia in 1648. Breslau is on the river Oder

This specimen was lot 3160 in Sincona sale 57 (Zürich, May 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Ferdinand II. 1618-1637. 1/2 Taler 1632, Breslau. Münzmeisterzeichen I-Z (Hans Ziesler, Münzmeister in Breslau 1631-1634). Sehr selten. Vorzüglich. Überdurchschnittliche Erhaltung mit feinem Prägeglanz. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, half thaler of 1632, Breslau mint. Very rare, Extremely fine, Extraordinary condition with remaining mint luster.)"

While several half thalers of Ferdinand III are common (KM 340, KM 366), the half thalers of Ferdinand II are all rare. This type is listed for 1628, 1631 and 1632. Another half thaler for 1632 has a crowned bust of the emperor (KM 318).
