Sincona sale 39, lot 3882

This specimen was lot 3882 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$300 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Erzherzog Leopold V. 1619-1632 Vierteltaler 1632. Hall. Vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, archduke Leopold V, quarter thaler of 1632, Hall mint. Extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1626, 1629, 1632 and is fairly scarce. A similar half thaler exists. The Vienna mint also struck quarter thalers in 1632 (KM 672). Archduke Leopold never became emperor.
