This specimen was lot 5719 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €280 (about US$390 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, FÜRSTENTUM, Georg II. 1727-1760. Mariengroschen 1749, Zellerfeld. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Aus der Sammlung eines Ingenieurs. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 4, Osnabrück 1986, Nr. 551. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, George II, 1727-60, mariengroschen of 1749, Zellerfeld mint. Extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1727-60 and is common. One thaler equalled 36 mariengroschen. The elector George II was also king George II of England.
