This specimen was lot 74566 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 6 Mariengroschen (1/6 Taler), 1749-IBH. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg II August (George II of Great Britain). PCGS AU-58. Just a hint of circulation and minor striking weakness is observed, otherwise this example is without issue and offers alluring color and even some brilliance. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1727-60 and is common. Another 1/6 thaler, KM 266 with a bust obverse, was also struck in this reign but not in 1749.
