Latest revision as of 16:21, 18 August 2024
This specimen was lot 30733 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $111.63. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Zacatecas. 8 Reales, 1852-ZsOM. ANACS AU-58 Details--Cleaned." The Zacatecas mint opened in 1810 and closed in 1905. The SCWC lists no overdates or varieties and notes this date as common, but choice examples always bring a premium. Assayer OM is listed for 1831-55.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
Catalog reference: KM-377.12; DP-Zs32.
