Sincona sale 95, lot 4682

This specimen was lot 4682 in Sincona sale 95 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$2,079 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Taler 1739, Zürich. Stadtansicht. Gutes vorzüglich. Attraktive dunkle Patina. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, thaler of 1739, Zürich mint, city view. About Uncirculated, Attractive dark patina.)"

This particular city view thaler was struck 1734, 1736 and 1739. The last Zurich city view thaler was struck in 1790.

Specification: 28 g, silver, 40 mm diameter, this specimen 28.03 g.
