Zurich 1739 10 schilling
This specimen was part of lot 4646 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), which sold for 100 CHF (about US$145 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, 10 Schilling 1707, Zürich. 10 Schilling 1739. 10 Schilling 1750. D.T. 449a, 450m, s, HMZ 2-1167b, p, v. Gutes schön. (3) (Switzerland, city and canton of Zürich, ten schillings of 1707, 1739 and 1750, Zürich mint. Good Fine, three pieces.)"
This type was struck 1718-27, 1730-32, 1736-53 and was worth one quarter gulden or one eighth thaler. In 1798, the canton of Zürich was forcibly incorporated into the Helvetic Republic.
