Sincona sale 91, lot 3687

This specimen was lot 3687 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$463 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Taler 1739, Zürich. Spruch. Fast vorzüglich. Kleine Schrötlingsfehler. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, thaler of 1739, Zürich mint, motto reverse. About extremely fine, Minor flan flaws.)"

This type was struck 1736-68 and is thoroughly mixed with the "city view" thalers of the same period.
