The first specimen was lot 40798 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $822.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. Zurich. 1/2 Taler, 1741. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder. Lightly toned." The second specimen was lot 4685 in Sincona sale 95 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$451 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Halbtaler 1741, Zürich. Spruch. Gutes vorzüglich. Feine Patina. Das Stück war ursprünglich durch PCGS mit AU55 zertifiziert worden. Exemplar der Auktion SINCONA 13, Zürich, Oktober 2013, Los 2876. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, half thaler of 1741, Zürich mint, motto reverse. About Uncirculated, Nicely toned.)"

This type was struck 1723-36, 1739-45, 1748, 1751-61, 1767-68. Half thalers with a city view reverse (KM 146) were struck 1720-26, 1729, 1732-36, 1739-45, 1748, 1751-53, 1756-61 and 1767-68, so most years have both types. They are about equally common but the city view obtains a premium for the more interesting design.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common for the type.
