This specimen was lot 5328 in Sincona sale 80 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 13,000 CHF (about US$15,581 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND | Zurich | Stadt und Kanton, Doppeldukat 1741, Zürich. Very rare. Extremely fine-uncirculated." This scarce type was struck 1718-67 along with quarter (Fr-488a), half (Fr-487a) and single ducats (Fr-486a). In 1798, the canton of Zürich was forcibly incorporated into the Helvetic Republic.
