Sincona sale 91, lot 3690

This specimen was lot 3690 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$463 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Halbtaler 1741, Zürich. Stadtansicht. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, half thaler of 1741, Zürich mint, city view. Very fine-extremely fine.)"

This half thaler was struck 1726-68 and is thoroughly mixed with the motto reverse half thalers (KM 145) of the same period.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 13.85 g.
