The Mexico City mint struck this ten centavos with this design 1898-1905. It is a redesign of the ten centavos piece struck 1869-97; only the eagle was changed. All dates are common. The bronze one centavo and silver five and twenty centavos were similarly modified. The eight reales was dropped in favor of a silver peso with this eagle. The regime began closing the branch mints in 1893 and by 1898, only Guanajuato, Culiacan and Zacatecas were left.

Specification: 2.70 g, 0.903 fine silver, reeded edge.
