This specimen was lot 2742 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $373.75. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Culiacan. 8 Reales, 1889-CnAM. NGC MS-64." The Culiacan mint struck eight reales 1846-97 and this date is common in all grades.

Recorded mintage: 1,075,000.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
