This specimen was lot 21208 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $1,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Peso, 1889-CnM. NGC MS-62. VERY RARE date. No price listing in Krause for this specific date, simply listed as RARE, which is something borne out by the few auction appearances the issue has made. A glistening yellow example with glossy nearly prooflike fields, especially on the reverse."

Recorded mintage: unknown but few.

Specification: 1.69 g, 0.875 fine gold, .047 troy oz AGW.
