This specimen was lot 31346 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $2,820. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 20 Pesos 1887/6 Mo-M MS62 Prooflike NGC, Mexico City mint, Lustrous Mint State with a few contact marks keeping it from the Choice category. The surfaces are very reflective as one would expect for the designation. Very elusive in this grade. The unlisted 7/6 overdate is very apparent and scarcer. From The FoxLair Collection." This type was struck in Mexico City 1870-1905 and is the most available mint.

Recorded mintage: 12,000 (a better date).

Specification: 33.84 g, 0.875 fine gold, .951 troy oz AGW.
