This specimen was lot 1396 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $3,818.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 10 Pesos, 1887-CnM. NGC MS-65. Tied for finest certified Culiacan 10 Pesos by NGC. A lustrous and choice piece." The Culiacan mint struck this type 1881-1903 with this date being the highest recorded mintage, tho none are common.

Recorded mintage: 2,289.

Specification: 16.92 g, 0.875 fine gold, .476 troy oz AGW.
