This specimen was lot 2810 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $258.75. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. San Luis Potosi. 8 Reales, 1885/4-PiMH. Light attractive toning. NGC MS-63." This date is common in all grades but the overdate is slightly scarce. Assayer LC is also recorded for 1885.

Recorded mintage: 1,736,000 (assayers LC and MH).

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
