This specimen is a common date of a series struck 1871-92 at the Culiacan mint. This twenty-five centavos piece replaced the two reales struck since colonial times. It, in turn, was replaced by a smaller twenty centavos piece in 1898. This date is priced about double the common date (1890-Cn). The SCWC notes that all specimens are the overdate, 1885/4.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.903 fine silver, .196 troy oz ASW.
