This specimen was lot 30737 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 4 Escudos, 1838-GoPJ. NGC EF Details--Excessive Surface Hairlines." Long[2] notes this as a scarce date.
