This specimen is from a type struck 1829-37 and is fairly available. It superseded a shortlived type that weighed 14 g (KM 357). This issue was accompanied by copper octavos; both were issued in an attempt to drive out the abusive minting of state and municipal coppers.

Specification: copper, 7 g, 27 mm diameter.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Catalog reference: KM-358, DB-1060[2].
