Stack's Bowers 2023 NYINC sale, lot 42661

This specimen was lot 42661 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $216. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1835-Mo ML. Mexico City Mint. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, Unc Details. From the Helena Collection." The Mexico City mint produced millions of eight reales 1824-97 but not all dates are common. This one is slightly scarce. Wide and narrow date varieties exist. Assayer ML is listed for 1833-37.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a slightly scarce date.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver.
