This specimen was lot 72103 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $366. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Real, 1835/4/3-Ga FS. Guadalajara Mint. NGC VF Details--Cleaned. Rare date. Tied for finest of only two graded by NGC. Medium tone over old cleaning. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." The Guadalajara mint produced half reales nearly continuously 1825-62. Many dates, including this one, are scarcer than the SCWC indicates. Assayer FS served 1825-36. No regular date exists for 1835.
