This specimen was lot 72312 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $1,159. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Real, 1835-Ga FS. Guadalajara Mint. NGC Good Details--Cleaned. Extremely rare. Only example graded by NGC. Medium tone does not have cleaned look. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." The Guadalajara mint produced one reales nearly continuously 1826-62. The SCWC mentions this date without price. Assayer FS served 1825-36. Unlike the half real, where gem specimens turn up occasionally, one reales nearly always appear heavily circulated.
