Künker sale 354, lot 5692

This specimen was lot 5692 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €800 (about US$1,113 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, FÜRSTENTUM, Georg I. Ludwig, 1698-1714. Reichstaler 1715, Clausthal. Prägung ohne den Königs-Titel. Vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 80, Osnabrück 2003, Nr. 1973. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, George Louis, 1698-1714, thaler of 1715, Clausthal mint, struck without George's title as king. Extremely fine.)"

This type of 1713-15 comes with the mintmaster's initials on the shield side (KM 88.1) or under the stallion's hooves (shown here). Both are priced the same.
