Hannover 1714 1/8 thaler
This specimen was lot 675 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €380 (about US$512 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, HERZOGTUM Georg I. Ludwig, 1698-1714. 1/8 Reichstaler 1714, Clausthal, auf den Tod seiner Mutter Sophia von der Pfalz. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Brunswick-Luneburg, George Louis, 1698-1714, one-eighth thaler of 1714, Clausthal mint, on the death of the elector's mother Sophia of the Palatinate. handsome toning, extremely fine.)"
This commemorative is accompanied by quarter (KM 94), half (KM 96) and single thalers (Dav-2060).
