This specimen was lot 5695 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €220 (about US$306 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, FÜRSTENTUM, - als Georg I. König von Großbritannien, 1714-1727. 4 Mariengroschen 1716, Clausthal. RR Hübsche Patina, fast vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung eines Ingenieurs. Exemplar der Slg. Erich Reichardt, Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 49, Osnabrück 1999, Nr. 1800. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, as George I, king of Great Britain, 1714-27, four mariengroschen of 1716, Clausthal mint. Very rare, handsome patina, about extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1716-21 and 1725 along with "wild men" and value reverses. Four mariengroschen = 1/9 thaler.
