Künker sale 264, lot 4304

This specimen was lot 4304 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €260 (about US$336 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"3 Reichsmark 1930, A. Vogelweide. Polierte Platte. (Germany, Weimar republic, three reichsmark of 1930, Vogelweide. Proof.)"

This type honoring poet and troubadour Walter von der Vogelweide was issued in 1930 from six mints. The proofs are rare. Austria issued a similar piece (KM 2845).

Recorded mintage: 163,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 15 g, 0.500 fine silver, .239 troy oz ASW, 30 mm diameter.
