This specimen was lot 70853 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Weimar Republic. 3 Mark, 1929-A. Berlin Mint. PCGS PROOF-65 Cameo. Commemorative of the 10th Anniversary of the Weimar Constitution. A handsome Gem Proof with flashy fields, pleasing frosty devices, and faint toning throughout." The 1929 was prolific of commemoratives; in addition to this one, we note KM 60, KM 62 and KM 65 in the three mark denomination and others in the five mark.
Recorded mintage: 1,421,000 + proofs.
