This specimen was lot 1259 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $211.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY: Weimar Republic, AR 3 mark, 1929-J, 200th anniversary of Gotthold Lessing, PCGS graded Proof 63, ex Don Erickson Collection." This type, issued 1929, was struck in some numbers in Berlin ("A"), Munich ("D"), Muldenhutten ("E"), Stuttgart ("F"), Karlsruhe ("G") and Hamburg ("J", shown here). It is among the more available of the Weimar commemoratives.
Recorded mintage: 33,000 plus proofs.
