Sincona sale 47, lot 1544

This specimen was lot 1544 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$300 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"GERMANY, Weimarer Republik, 3 Reichsmark 1928 D, München. 400. Todestag von Albrecht Dürer. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Germany, Weimar republic, three mark of 1928, Munich mint. 400th anniversary of the death of Albrecht Durer. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"

This type, struck only at Munich, is among the scarcer Weimar commemoratives.

Recorded mintage: 50,000 + proofs.

Specification: 15 g, 0.500 fine silver, 30 mm diameter, this specimen 15.03 g.
